Bowyer Lodge members were delighted to play a part in strengthening the cadets’ development and supporting a programme that benefits local youth.
Bowyer Lodge Celebrates Festive Meeting with Fun, Fines, and Fundraising
Bowyer Lodge’s annual Christmas meeting was filled with festive cheer as members enjoyed an evening of fun, laughter, and friendly competition. The night featured Jo’s imaginative picture quiz and Peter’s lively sing-along music game, both of which kept the room buzzing. Overseeing the chaos was Emma, the Worshipful Master’s wife, who took on the role of Fine Master, dishing out humorous penalties for seasonal slip-ups—whether it was forgetting the correct Christmas attire or daring to remove a party hat too soon.
All fines were, of course, in good spirits and for a worthy cause. Thanks to everyone’s enthusiasm (and misbehaviour!), the lodge raised an excellent contribution for the RDA – Riding for the Disabled Association, rounding off a warm and memorable festive gathering.

December 2024 – Donation to Thrive OX7
In December, we were proud to make a donation to the local charity Thrive OX7 to help support the incredible work they do within our community. Thrive is a fantastic charity dedicated to supporting children and families in the local area who may have fallen on hard times.
Their work makes a real difference, providing not only emotional support and guidance but also practical help with essential items such as school uniforms, clothing, bedding, and other necessities that many of us might take for granted. These small things can have a huge impact on a young person’s wellbeing, confidence, and ability to thrive both at home and at school.
