INTEGRITY – FRIENDSHIP – RESPECT – SERVICE

When Emma was just seven years old, she went to an airshow that would change her life forever.
Among the roaring engines and daring displays, one act stood out — the Crunchie Wing walking Team. She watched in awe as a fearless woman stood proudly atop a plane, flying through the sky with grace and courage.

After the show, Emma got to meet the wing walker in person — and, full of childhood wonder, told her, “I’m going to do that one day!”

It was a promise she never forgot.

More than 20 years later, Emma finally got the chance to make that childhood dream come true. She took to the skies herself, experiencing the exhilaration of wing walking — and she was instantly hooked.

As time went on, Emma shared her story with her stepson Ollie, who was about the same age she’d been when she first saw those sky-high performers. From an early age, Ollie had a love for adventure and a fearless streak — the perfect match for an adrenaline-fuelled challenge.

Now aged 21, Ollie joined Emma for a very special cause close to their hearts: Teddies for Loving Care (TLC). Together, they decided to brave the skies once again, taking part in a wing walking fundraiser to support TLC’s work providing teddy bears to children in hospital — helping to comfort and reassure them during difficult times.

Although their flight had to be brought forward due to the weather, the day turned out to be a fantastic success. With the expert support of pilot Dave and professional wing walkers Kirsten and Emma from AeroSuperBatics, both took to the air with smiles and thumbs up, cheered on by friends, family, and the TLC community.

Their combined effort raised over £700 for TLC — an incredible achievement that will help provide teddies for many children in need of a little comfort.

Reflecting on the experience, Emma said:

“It’s amazing to finally share this experience with Ollie and to do it for such a special cause. I’ll never forget seeing the Crunchie Wing walking Team as a little girl — it planted a dream that’s stayed with me all these years. To make that dream come true again, this time alongside Ollie, and to raise money for TLC, is just incredible.”

Ollie added:

“It was one of the best experiences of my life! Knowing we’ve helped raise money for children who need comfort makes it even more rewarding.”

From a childhood dream to a family challenge — Emma and Ollie’s story shows how inspiration can soar across generations, and how even the wildest dreams can help make a real difference.
